Darrielle Simms-Allmon

Darrielle has served on the Executive Board as the Treasurer since 2020. She has over 20 years of leadership experience in the Finance Industry for both non-profit and for-profit organizations, including 10 years at a Big 5 accounting firm specializing in managing the firm's billing/invoicing of professional fees and services. She was critical in budgeting, forecasting, and internal auditing functions. Currently, she works for the State at Metro, leading the account receivables team as an Accountant II in this role. 

 

Darrielle proudly served her country as a Communications Specialist in the United States Navy, providing essential ship-to-shore relay communications to naval vessels assigned to the Western Pacific fleet. She served two tours overseas at Telecommunications stations in Australia and The Philippines. While in the Navy, Darrielle was also part of a specialized security detail and has achieved the level of brown belt in both Karate and Taekwondo.

 

Darrielle pursued her higher education goals by obtaining an associate degree from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii, a bachelor's degree in Foreign language education from the University of Memphis, and attended two years of graduate classes pursuing a master's in teaching Spanish at Portland State University. She has been involved in several humanitarian/missionary efforts, including transporting and distributing medical and essential supplies to charity organizations in Cuba and teaching English classes in rural elementary schools in Guatemala and Honduras. She understands the importance of educating our youth. She has volunteered for the following local organizations: Walt Morey Middle School, Portland International Community School, Alder Elementary School, and Start Making a Reader Today (SMART), to name a few.

Quete Capuia

Quete Capuia, MMOL, has been a dedicated member of her community for over three decades, serving in various leadership roles throughout her life. Her extensive experience includes involvement in youth and children's programs, team leadership, and education. Quete joined The Highland Haven team as Director of Programs in June 2020, driven by a strong commitment to making a positive impact and being a change agent in her community.

 

Quete holds a Master's Degree in Management Organizational Leadership from Warner Pacific College in Portland, OR. She brings a wealth of expertise in creating business plans, overseeing day-to-day operations, managing finances, improving organizational performance, developing culture, supervising department heads, reporting on revenue, and directing strategic initiatives.

Laverne Martin

Laverne has served on the Executive Board as the Vice President since 2022. She has over 30 years of leadership experience in non-profit organizations, including faith-based and non-faith-based non-profit organizations. She is a certified life insurance agent and one of the top agents in the state of Oregon. As the founder and CEO of Franklin Family Foundation, she has made a significant impact in serving families and youth in the community. Laverne Martin is a strong, powerful, engaging, motivating, captivating, and gifted Leader who advocates for the Youths and women empowerment in the community.

Yetu

Yetu Dumbia

Yetu is the founder and coach of Yetu Coaching & Consulting LLC—a firm dedicated to assisting trauma survivors to regain their voices and strength. Yetu was honored to Chair the Traditional Health Worker Commission, advocating for health equity. She has over two decades of experience working on equity issues and gang prevention/intervention work and has over 14 years of demonstrated history of working in the public and private sector with a background in education, public health, nursing, coaching, and project management. Yetu is passionate about serving the community, bringing light to their voices, and dismantling all forms of barriers and racism.

Lovemore Hakuna

Lovemore is a technical and business leader with over 15 years of experience in program management, supply chain management, organizational strategy, and team development in private and non-profit sectors. Lovemore is passionate about inspiring teams to achieve their full potential, role model results and behaviors to drive organizational success, and building a lasting and impactful pipeline of leaders through coaching and mentorship. He is an engineering manager in the Global Sourcing of Equipment and Materials organization at Intel Corporation.​ Lovemore is an accomplished researcher and published scholar. He has a Ph.D. in chemistry from Portland State University and an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP ®).
